I have things to say and this is where I'll say them.

Donny Keeps on Dancing

Donny danced for week 2 of the competition last night.  On tonight’s show we found out that he’s staying another week!  Wooooo!!! He really is such a pleasure to watch.  It’s fun and exciting.  And Donny is just….  well…  Donny.  Squeeeeee!!!

Loss of a Special Friend

My hairdresser died yesterday.  That probably doesn’t sound like much, but Debbie was special.  I met her for the first time in 1977 when I was 17.  She gave me a Farrah cut.  It was the beginning of a lasting friendship.  Until Debbie got sick with cancer almost three years ago, she was the only [...]

Donny Doesn’t Disappoint

Season 9 of Dancing with the Stars premiered tonight and I managed not to forget about it.  Only the men danced tonight, with the women dancing tomorrow night.  I don’t even know who the women are yet, but I did see Derek Hough and Mark Ballas, which is a good thing.  But…  I imagine this [...]

Goodbye to Patrick

I want to express my sorrow on the loss of Patrick Swayze today.  He lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and died peacefully.  My favorite character played by Patrick is Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing.  If you haven’t seen that movie, please watch it.  It’s one of my all time favorite movies.  Naturally, all of [...]

Stupid Spam

I’m not talking about the luncheon meat.  Or whatever it is.  Although, I admit that I’ve eaten Spam in the past and liked it.  I used to fry it up in a pan, then put it on bread with Miracle Whip.  Hush.  It was good. However, that kind of Spam has brought me many joyful wheezes [...]

Adam Ant – Beautiful Dream

We’ve made our way to Adam Ant’s last recorded album and Ant Week is winding down.  Wonderful was released in 1995 and it was very much a change for Ant Music.  Adam himself said it was the most difficult for him to write because he was trying to create a more mellow sound.  This album [...]

Adam Ant – Can’t Set Rules About Love

As y’all can see, my Ant Week isn’t Monday through Friday.  Heh. After the 50s rock and roll sound of Vive Le Rock, Adam evolved yet again to a totally different sound.  Marco was still around, but a third guy was added to the songwriting mix.  Andre Cymone brought almost a synthetic sound to the [...]

Adam Ant – Apollo 9 (Updated)

Ok folks, this is a very special entry for Ant Week. We’re up to the point where I entered Ant World. By fall of 1985, I had been listening to Adam Ant’s music for close to a year and I really liked it. But then something very special happened. I saw Adam perform live in [...]

Puss ‘N Boots – Adam Ant

Adam’s next album was “Strip.”  The song “Puss ‘N Boots” was the first song on side two.  Phil Collins played drums for both “Strip” and “Puss ‘N Boots” and also did a lot of the production work.  How’s that for some trivia? More of the makeup came off for this album and the costumes switched [...]

Friend or Foe – Adam Ant (Updated)

I’m keeping the videos in order, so this next one came out after the Prince Charming album. “Friend or Foe” is the song and the album name. Adam has toned down the makeup a bit by this time. His costumes have moved into a really fun nautical look combined with a bit of cowboy. His [...]
