I have things to say and this is where I'll say them.

It Was Like Poking an Anthill

I’m always eyeballing the new Hondas and pondering which one will be my next car.  Some of you may remember my dilemma a few months ago about the Accord, Civic, and CRV.  Well, now the Fit has been added to the mix for two reasons:  orange color and paddle shifters.  Oh yes, oh yes!  It’s possible to shift again without a clutch that will hurt my knee.

It’s just such a cute little car.  Cute cute cute.  It’s all kinds of crazy versatile with the seats to allow for toting around lots of stuff, which is an issue for us as new homeowners.  The only thing really against it is the fact that it’s a very small car.  I’m not sure how I feel about having something so small as our primary or only vehicle.

Anyway, on the the title of the post.  Like always, Hubby and I drove and piddled through the Honda lot to see our various potential vehicles side by side.  We were just cruising very slowly, stopping a little and looking, but not getting out of the car.  We’re not in a position to buy anything right now, so there’s no need.  But dang!  When we drove past the front of the show room, there were at least six Honda salesmen loitering outside.  When they saw two people in a Honda driving slowly through the Honda lot…  well, they started swarming.  They visibly gawked at us and started moving in.  Especially when we backed up a little to see the new Insight that was on display.  One guy had literally come all the way to the edge of the parking lot in anticipation of pouncing on us the moment we opened the car doors.  We weren’t even in a parking space!  It was kind of scary the way they swarmed like ants when you poke their anthill.  I screeched at Hubby to “Go!  Just go!!”

Sales are apparently very slow.  They were having a big sales event with prices slashed all over the place.  And here it was, a Saturday evening and not a single buyer to be found.  Once we get things settled a little better, we’ll park the car, walk in, and own the place.  Heh.
